ALFAN Egba Zone Pays Historic Thank-You Visit to Ambassador Isola.
In a moment that blended gratitude with subtle political undertones, the Egba Zone leadership of the Aluminum Fabricators Association of Nigeria (ALFAN) recently paid a high-profile thank-you visit to Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola OFR in Abeokuta, acknowledging what they described as a timely and impactful intervention in their collective progress.
The delegation, led by the Chairman of the zone, Mr. Abiodun Salami, comprised a formidable lineup of executives drawn from the six local governments in Ogun Central, including Yusuf Ishau Ayoola, Ishau Jimoh Abiodun, Akeem Ogundare, Saidu Moshood, Gafar Alade, Adeola Solebo, AbdRasaq Mustapha, Moshood Oloyede, Rasheed Sofela, Semiu Mustapha, and Folarin Jimoh, all of whom lent weight and voice to the significance of the visit.
At the heart of the engagement was a deep sense of appreciation for the unexpected financial donation made by Ambassador Isola during the 2026 ALFAN Day held on January 29, 2026 a gesture the association affirmed had accelerated the construction of its Secretariat. Speaking on behalf of the group, Mr. Abiodun Salami expressed heartfelt gratitude, emphasizing that the association’s loyalty, solidarity, and commitment to the aspirations of the statesman remain unwavering.
Echoing this sentiment, Mr. Ishau Ayoola Yusuf, Mr. Akeeb Ogundare, Mr. Jimoh Folarin, and Mr. Moshood Oloyede, speaking separately, noted that Ambassador Isola stands out as the only politician since the inception of ALFAN to not only honor their invitation but also provide substantial support toward their infrastructural vision. They revealed with pride that the Secretariat building, once a distant dream, has now been successfully roofed, largely due to his intervention.
Beyond appreciation, the visit subtly transitioned into a call for leadership, as the delegation joined voices with other stakeholders across the state to urge Ambassador Isola to consider contesting the 2027 gubernatorial election, pledging their unflinching support and continued allegiance.
In his response, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola OFR expressed profound appreciation to the Elders Forum, leadership, and entire membership of ALFAN, describing their visit as both humbling and inspiring. Reflecting on his political trajectory, from his early days as Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government to serving as Ogun State ALGON Chairman and South West Coordinator of Local Government Chairmen between 1997 and 1998, to his role as Special Assistant to the Minister of State for Finance from 1999 to 2003, Secretary to the Ogun State Government between 2003 and 2007, Minister of Mines and Steel Development from 2007 to 2008, and later as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom from 2021 to 2023, he attributed his journey not to personal strength but to divine grace.
The visit, rich in symbolism and substance, underscored not only the power of responsive leadership but also the growing alignment between grassroots associations and tested public figures in shaping the political future of Ogun State.
