Leeds United Sign Nigerian 18-year-old Defender Leonard Ngenge from Remo Stars.

Leonard Ngenge has completed a move from Remo Stars to English Premier League side Leeds United.

The club confirmed the signing in a statement released on Tuesday, announcing that the 18-year-old defender has agreed to a one-and-a-half-year contract that will keep him at Leeds until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Ngenge will initially link up with Leeds United’s academy, where he is expected to develop further with the aim of earning promotion to the first team.

“Everyone at Leeds United would like to welcome Leonard to the club, where he will link up with the Academy setup,” the club said in a statement.

The young defender featured in seven matches for Remo Stars during the first half of the current season after joining the club in August 2025. He made an immediate impact by scoring on his debut in a 4–0 CAF Champions League victory over US Zilimadjou of Niger.

Before his move to Remo Stars, Ngenge played for Ikorodu City, where he impressed during the club’s debut campaign in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) in the 2024/25 season.

At international level, Ngenge represented the home-based Super Eagles at the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN), making two appearances at the tournament. However, his second outing proved challenging, as he scored an own goal and conceded a penalty in a 4–0 loss to Sudan.
