BudgIT raises concern over Tinubu presentation of 2026 budget without 2025 Accountability
BudgIT, a civic organisation has raised concerns over President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presentation of N54.4 trillion 2026 budget to the National Assembly without releasing the performance report for the 2025 fiscal year.
The group made the allegation in a statement posted on X on Thursday.
It has been widely reported that Tinubu is scheduled to present the country’s 2026 budget before the National Assembly on Friday (today).
In response, BudgIT highlighted that the 2025 budget implementation report has not yet been made public.
“Mind you, there is still no budget implementation report for 2025. The 2026 budget is almost here, yet we don’t know how the 2025 budget performed? No report. No accountability,” BudgIT wrote on X.
For context, in February 2025, President Tinubu signed the N54.99 trillion 2025 budget into law
