The management of Yewa Frontier Radio, Ilaro-Yewa, Ogun State has dismissed speculations linking the establishment of the station to the build-up toward the 2027 general elections, insisting that the platform was created to advance regional development, promote inclusive dialogue, and enhance public enlightenment in Yewaland and beyond.
Speaking in a recent interview, the Chairman of Afisola Nigeria Limited and Yewa Frontier Group, Chief Muftau Olabimtan, clarified that the concept of Yewa Frontier Radio was conceived long before the current political permutations.
According to him, the radio station is part of a broader media expansion and rebranding vision, driven by the conviction that radio remains one of the most effective tools for mass communication across communities.
Chief Olabimtan explained that the delay in launching the station was largely due to prolonged regulatory processes, adding that the broadcasting licence was finally approved this year (2025) leading to the birth of New Frontier Radio, now popularly known as Yewa Frontier Radio”
He further stressed that the station’s emergence was not motivated by political ambition but by a clear commitment to inform, educate, entertain, and give voice to the people.
“Yewa Frontier Radio is a commercial and civic platform, not a political springboard”, he said, adding that his personal and family history reflects zero involvement in electoral politics.
The Asoju Olu of Ilaro, Chief Olabimtan, further explained that the station operates as a privately owned commercial outfit, independent of government or political party control.
Its programming, however, is designed to align with the broader Yewa Agenda, which advocates fair political inclusion, development, and recognition for the zone within Ogun State.
Olabimtan added that the station maintains an open-door policy, welcoming all credible Yewa aspirants with people-focused agendas, irrespective of political affiliation.
“Yewa Frontier Radio positions itself as a platform for accurate information, cultural expression, and balanced political discourse, rather than division or propaganda.
As Ogun State gradually moves toward another electoral cycle in 2027, we will ensure that the station focuses on empowering citizens, promoting dialogue, and encouraging responsible leadership across board”, he said.
In an increasingly polarised media environment, Chief Olabimtan described Yewa Frontier Radio as a renewed commitment to community-centred broadcasting, development advocacy, and inclusive public discourse in Yewaland.
The Radio station will officially commence operations on December 27
