LASBCA GIVES SATELLITE TOWN PROPERTY OWNERS END-OF-FEBRUARY ULTIMATUM TO REGULARISE BUILDING APPROVALS.
The Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) has given property owners within Satellite Town axis an ultimatum to regularise their building approvals and complete all necessary documentation on or before the end of February, warning that enforcement activities will commence immediately after the deadline.
According to the release by the Director in the Public Affairs Unit of the agency, Adu Ademuyiwa, “The ultimatum was highlighted during a courtesy visit to the office of the General Manager of LASBCA by a delegation of executive members and residents of God’s Divine Estate, led by the Chairman of the Satellite Town Forum (STF), Governor Michael Imitini, on Wednesday, January 22, 2026.
“The visit followed the earlier intervention of the Satellite Town Forum regarding the Lagos State Government’s directive to property owners to regularise their building approvals, and also came as residents of God’s Divine Estate expressed readiness to comply with the State Government’s As-Built Approval policy.
“During the meeting, the delegation, through the Satellite Town Forum, presented appeals and explanations regarding the compliance process, urging LASBCA to consider residents who were willing to do the needful in line with government regulations.
“After listening to the concerns raised, the General Manager, in her administrative discretion, approved a significant waiver on the assessed charges, a gesture described as a step to encourage voluntary compliance, fairness, and professionalism.
“Following the development, the Satellite Town Forum advised all beneficiaries who have received their Assessment Notices and Stage Certifications to proceed immediately with the processing of their documentation and payment of the approved fees without further delay.
“The Forum also cautioned property owners not to relax simply because their properties have been unsealed, stressing that they must diligently follow up on all required documentation until the Certificate of Completion and Fitness for Habitation is obtained.
“The Satellite Town Forum noted that the compliance process remains a statutory obligation and is ultimately in the best interest of property owners, their families, and generations yet unborn, as it guarantees safety, security, and peace of mind.”
