Closing date for the ongoing recruitment of constables into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has been extended by two weeks.

‎The exercise, which began with the opening of application portal on December 15, 2025, has been extended to February 8, 2026, a statement issued by the Police Service Commission’s (PSC) Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, Torty Njoku Kalu, on behalf of the Commission and the Nigeria Police Force, announced.

‎The statement further revealed that over 400,000 applications had been received for the 50,000 vacancy, citing noticeable disparities in state participation as the reason for the extension.

‎”The extension aims to ensure equitable representation nationwide, the Commission’s spokesman stated”, adding
“While some states like Adamawa, Benue, and Kaduna have high application numbers, states such as Lagos, Ogun, Bayelsa, Ebonyi, and Anambra have notably lower submissions”.

‎The statement encouraged eligible Nigerians, particularly from states listed above with fewer applications, to apply via the official portal: www.npfapplication.psc.gov.ng.

‎It also urged state governments, local government councils, socio-cultural organizations, religious bodies, community leaders, and other stakeholders to mobilize and sensitize eligible citizens within their jurisdictions to apply before the new deadline.

“The PSC and NPF reaffirm their commitment to a fair and transparent recruitment process”, the statement concluded.
