Kano Police Recover Alleged Stolen Toyota Sienna from Maiduguri, Arrest 3 Suspects, Handover Vehicle to Owner

The Kano State Police Command has recovered a stolen maroon colour Toyota Sienna and handed it over to the rightful owner, Mr. Ali Alti, while four suspects, linked to the theft, have been apprehended.

‎The vehicle, valued at Twenty Million Naira, was allegedly stolen by a security guard from Maiduguri GRA, Borno State, on January 5, 2026, and was recovered in Kano on January 7.

‎Confirming the development, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP
‎Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, disclosed that the recovery was sequel to the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun on strategic intelligence-led visibility.

‎The vehicle was handed over to the owner on the directive of the state Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, after verifying his proof of ownership.

 


‎CP Bakori has, consequently, cautioned
‎members of the public to always be mindful and cautious when hiring people for domestic services.

‎He commended the efforts of officers that recovered the vehicle and also appreciated the public for supporting the command in its crime-fighting thrive.
