Miyetti Allah President, Two Other Leaders Arrested Over Alleged Kidnapping, Banditry in Kwara

Security operatives in Kwara State have arrested three senior leaders of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria MACBAN over allegations of aiding kidnapping and supporting bandit groups operating in the state.

Those arrested include the state president of the association, Idris Abubakar, alongside two other executive members. The suspects, all said to be above 60 years of age, are accused of facilitating several abductions and providing financial and logistical support to criminal networks linked to Fulani bandits.

Sources within the security agencies disclosed that preliminary investigations point to close collaboration between the arrested leaders and armed groups responsible for a wave of kidnappings along highways and within rural communities across Kwara.

Meanwhile, coordinated operations involving the military and the police are ongoing to identify bandit enclaves as efforts to dismantle criminal hideouts and restore security in the state. Investigators are also expanding their probe to track and arrest other suspected collaborators connected to the network.
