Kano Police Recover Alleged Stolen Toyota Sienna from Maiduguri, Arrest 3 Suspects, Handover Vehicle to Owner

The Kano State Police Command has recovered a stolen maroon colour Toyota Sienna and handed it over to the rightful owner, Mr. Ali Alti, while four suspects, linked to the theft, have been apprehended.
The vehicle, valued at Twenty Million Naira, was allegedly stolen by a security guard from Maiduguri GRA, Borno State, on January 5, 2026, and was recovered in Kano on January 7.
Confirming the development, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP
Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, disclosed that the recovery was sequel to the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun on strategic intelligence-led visibility.
The vehicle was handed over to the owner on the directive of the state Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, after verifying his proof of ownership.
CP Bakori has, consequently, cautioned
members of the public to always be mindful and cautious when hiring people for domestic services.
He commended the efforts of officers that recovered the vehicle and also appreciated the public for supporting the command in its crime-fighting thrive.
